While medical marijuana is proven to be useful in ever-increasing range of medical and mental health conditions, something that is now, finally, being confirmed with all the rigors of scientific scrutiny, while the opponents use their favorite fear tactics none of which are scientifically based, we now have an important philosophical "upper hand". If our main proposition, that is that marijuana does have proven medicinal value in at least one medical condition, then the philosophical "burden of prove" shifts to our opponents to show that marijuana is not effective in any and ALL medical conditions for which the patients claim its efficacy. In Canada, where medical marijuana is legal, the crime rate is lower than in the United States. Therefore, people, the opponents of medical marijuana lose all three arguments - scientific, sociological, and philosophical.

Marijuana has never been a proven cause of death, no proven addiction, and has not been proven to be a cause of domestic violence. The same can not be said for alcohol, which is completely legal

Marijuana should be legalized for a number of reasons. it would help get this country OUT of debt by selling it and distibuting it like beer and tobacco. It would also free up the judical system and jails. it is by far SAFER ( not lassed with anything). it takes about 100 joints to over dose smoking one after another, while it takes 20 beers in an hour or 12 shots of whiskey in an hour. almost half of the country supports it. theres more people that smoke than the government knows about but there not exercising there freedom of speech.

It is our right to have marijuana in our lives!!! I know its an opinion ,but if you dont like it, dont do it. This "COUNTRY" was based on marijuana for several reasons,1 rope,clothes,etc"and to smoke" The only reason the government wont allow it is becuase they financialy cant make anything off of it.well to me they shouldnt!!!! I will fight for my right to smoke untill I get what I want,what the people of our "COUNTRY" want! I know its not the 60's or 70's but to fight for what is right and im all down and groovy for a big protest stand and to speak the words of our great plant. I will gladly sign any petition to legalize marijuana, although it is like in vain. Be serious, it can be grown with a seed!!! How can it not be legal? It's a no brainer but we all must remember that those that have the power dont have BRAINS!! Not to mention the govt and those that help run it make too much money not legalizing it. Lets all just move north to CANADA!! It more legal there and HEALTHCARE is FREE!! 2 birds with one stone!!

It is completely ridiculous how the government spends billions of dollars every year to stop marijuana use. Also, think of how much money they spent on keeping small-amount pot offenders in jail. Imagine what all our country could do with the money we would make if it were legalized and sold it in stores. i GUARANTEE that if pot were made legal, it would help get us out of this recession, and in the mean time, undermining violent pot dealers, and diffusing drug cartels. Think of how many DEA agents have been killed trying to stop marijuana use. it could have been completely avoided. but since it hasn't been, now is the time to start.

Look at it this way, alcohol is a Legal substance that is the cause of a majority of deaths and abuse in the U.S. while marijuana has never caused a death (besides smoke related illnesses) and is a non addictive substance. Having it leaglaized will help us in so many ways. Its about time.
