“To me, it is a matter of whether or not it is the place of federal government to dictate what private Americans can or cannot do in their private lives, and where will the meddling end. The infamous experiment of prohibition of alchohol did not teach any lessons to our lawmakers…and those who smoke do so regardless of it’s legality, do you think if it were decriminalized that those who don’t smoke will suddenly begin to? Not likely, since the reasons they don’t are not usually related to it’s legality, but their perspective on it’s effects upon their lives…Just like in alchoholism, if one quites drinking, it is not because of a mandate, but a personal decision. Too many federal mandates that constitute infringement of civil liberty in this land of the free already, and time to get the government off our backs and return power to the people of this great country. We don’t need a federal babysitter to make decisions for us about what we should or should not consume…That is NOT the purpose or place of Federal Govt.” Paul C.
Thank you Paul, you make excellent points.
